I decided to kill two birds (lol) with one stone and participate in both the Reverse!Verse and the Letsdraw challenge, yay! I haven’t had a lot of free time to draw lately so I’m a little rusty, sorry y’all. I imagine that if Dean were Cas’ angel he’d be pulling all kind of dick moves, and Sam’s too good of a little brother to intervene (most of the time, at least until his patience runs out). Cas probably needs some magical ingredient or an Angel Feather for a spell and Dean’s just going to smack him in the face with his wings until Cas snaps.

It just occurred to me that I enjoy the relationship between Dean and Cas - romantic or otherwise - because there can be no doubt they genuinely like each other. Not out of obligation, family bonds, supernatural forces or the like, but merely because they got to know each other and at some point discovered they enjoy each other’s company.

It’s probably the most natural built-up of any interpersonal relationship I’ve ever seen in a fictional narrative.

I love Angel!Dean so much. I feel like he would spend all his time annoying Cas, snapping pie and burgers into existence, teasing Cas, showing up to taunt him with vague clues about his hunts, appearing suddenly in the back of Castiel’s car singing loudly and off-key. 

It would get to the point where Castiel would almost forget he was an angel and he’d just see Dean as his annoying friend. Even when other people talk about how powerful Dean is, about the things he’s supposed to have done, Castiel doesn’t really believe them because the most miraculous thing he’s seen Dean do is turn water into whiskey. 

And then Castiel would be hurt, captured by demons. He’s bleeding and bloody, but he prays for Dean. Dean arrives in the blink of an eye and he’s burning with righteous fury. He glows with power and Castiel can see the outline of his wings, the shadow of them on the wall as Dean smites the demons, destroying them in a flash of light.

Then Dean puts his hands so gently on Castiel and heals him and it’s like he was never that terrifying creature from before. And maybe Castiel is a little turned on. Dean is dangerous, he is powerful, but he protects Castiel. 

“Yeah,” Dean says, grinning at him. “I’m a regular guardian angel.”

“Don’t read my thoughts!” Castiel snaps.

Can I just say something? Cas is beyond pissed, he isn’t just angry here. Seeing Naomi, he’s vengeful. She tortured him, chased him, messed with his head, had him kill Samandriel, almost made him kill Dean (after having him kill one thousand facsimiles). She violated him.

Castiel is an angel. Literally one of the most powerful beings in creation. He is capable of killing with a touch, doesn’t even have to touch to kill if he really doesn’t want to. Dean is holding him back with one hand.

Dean, human, weak, fragile, smite-able Dean is holding Castiel back with one touch. Castiel is letting Dean hold him back from the one angel whom he has the most motivation and, some would say, right to kill.

Just think about that for a moment.
